Today my mom and I went to Diamond Head for the first sunrise of the year!

And finally…

Ta da! And there was a rainbow, too ↓

The day started off a little rough, what with having to wake up at 5AM, the random stormy weather, and me being on the receiving end of a barely-intelligible stream of death threats from a crazy old guy, but it was all worth it in the end. I also love watching the surfers dedicated enough to paddle out despite the early hour and the cold. People take their New Year’s firsts pretty seriously, I suppose.
