So I’m back from the Big Island. I had a wonderful time, though the trip didn’t end as well as it could have. The first sad thing that happened was that my computer’s hard drive died somewhere between my hotel room and the airport. It’s blue screen-ing, which is pretty lame. Even lamer is that some tech places on Oahu charge $300 (way too much) for data recovery, so it looks like I won’t be able to access my files and stuff until I get back to school (where I can do it for free, since I work at a computer help desk). Now I have to buy/install a new hard drive, which makes me grumpy.

The second sad thing that happened was losing my camera. Well, not really “losing”. It’s a long story, but basically: I left it in the airport’s restaurant, noticed that I didn’t have it as I was boarding the plane, but wasn’t allowed to go back and get it. Luckily, they have it at the Lost and Found, so maybe I can get it sent back to me. Maybe. It’s been really hard getting in touch with them.

So that’s what’s going on right now. I’ll be taking a semi-hiatus, I suppose, until this all gets straightened out. Koichi’s coming to visit tomorrow, though, so maybe he’ll let me borrow his camera and computer from time to time? I don’t know.
